Jacquie Curtis was an avid baker and cake decorator that trained under many legends, such as Joelle Mahoney, Betty Van Norstrand, Geraldine Randlesome, Charmaine Jones (Cake Diva), Antoinette (Toni) Hartmen, Gloria Griffin and Chef Steven Ciccone. And in the past several years also mentored by Food Network Judge and Public Figure, Kerry Vincent.

With a group of such talented artists as cheerleaders, excitements are always around right the corner!

HOW FONDANT CREATED A COMPANY

It all began in 2003 when Jacquie was teaching a Wilton Cake Decorating Class Through the years her students continually had one disappointment. The taste of fondant! Fondant is costly and should not be just peeled off and thrown away. Those conversations would inspire Jacquie to create one of the most innovative cake-decorating products – Perfect Palate.

After researching various flavorings and being frustrated that liquid flavors just caused a sticky mess, Jacquie collaborated with an American Company to create her brand. A few months later, this yielded More That Cake’s first powdered flavoring.

OUR FIRST FLAVOR

After testing “VERY BERRY” with great success and encourange from several of her Master teachers and mentors, In 2011 Jacquie and her husband Chris decided¬† to test marker Perfect Palate at the 2011 Annual ICES Convention is Charlotte, NC. By opening day, the couple had developed four addition flavorings.

Perfect Palate was a resounding success, Jacquie’s sister Colleen joined to support her first show and trio nearly sold out of their entire inventory. They were supported by some very talented artists and established many new friendships that just grows stronger over time. Their CAKE family grows larger every year!

Jacquie’s sister Colleen joined her as Vice-President and partner in 2012, with Chris as Director of Marketing. As you can see, we take great pride in being a family business.
